SHORELINEs
An dance performance featuring the FadaDance Troupe Youth Company and the Emerging Ensemble.
This year’s project is unique in both its scope and creative process. FadaDance Troupe has purchased the rights to use “Shorelines” by Canadian playwright Mishka Lavigne and are collaborating with theatre director Judy Wensel to explore how dance can emerge from a traditionally narrative medium.
“Shorelines” is a poetic and thought-provoking work exploring climate change, displacement, family, and the uncertainty of our collective future. Through contemporary dance, theatre, and collaborative creation, our young artists are bringing these themes to life, working alongside professional choreographers and developing their own creative voices.
More information will be shared closer to the performance date.

Coffee & Jerky FUndraisers!
Hello Youth Company Families and Dancers,
We are reaching out to let you know that FadaDance Troupe needs the help of the Youth Company in our fundraising campaign this year. We will be running a fundraiser selling Cowboy’s Caviar Beef Jerky and Spirit Bear Coffee from now until November 6. Funds raised in these sales events are going right back into the work that is happening this season.
We are hoping that the students and parents/guardians can utilize their contacts to raise awareness on the dance project, raise funds and supply quality Canadian products to their family and friends. The top seller of jerky and the top seller of coffee will each receive two tickets to the Youth Company Show!
We are running these campaigns now so that the products potentially can be used for the winter gift giving season.
This year’s project is unique in both its scope and creative process. We are purchasing the rights to use Shorelines by Canadian playwright Mishka Lavigne and collaborating with theatre director Judy Wensel to explore how dance can emerge from a traditionally narrative medium.
This brings additional costs, including performance rights, theatre collaboration, and a more involved creation process. We are therefore fundraising more actively this year to help support these added expenses and the artists involved.
